Marginal utility is a fact of life we can use to our advantage

Marginal utility is the economic concept that explains why the first bite tastes better than the tenth. Over time, marginal utility tends to go down until eventually we’re satisfied enough to stop consuming.

When we’re trying to lose weight we can use marginal utility to our advantage: we can decide to stop consuming a food sooner knowing that with each bite we take our marginal utility is going down anyway.
